The events that have unfolded in Lebanon are truly horrific and so far removed from anything I will have to endure in my life. I will be using my privilege to try and support the humanitarian efforts in Beirut by raising money for the charity War Child.
War Child believe in the power of children. 149 million children are growing up in war and this charity are dedicated to giving them their childhood back and helping them build a peaceful future.
Tension and insecurity in Beirut were already present due to economic instability and coronavirus. Following the explosion in the capital, 300,000 people are now homeless, and War Child are supporting with shelter, food, medical care and other urgent assistance.
For the next 2 weeks, I am joining TEAM SWOOSH to 'Make Sport a Daily Habit' for War Child in an effort to raise these valueable funds.
For a personal challenge, I am going to try and run 100 miles (~161 KM) in 2 weeks.
