Kerst is bij uitstek een tijd om iets terug te geven. Soms vergeten we hoe ‘blessed’ we zijn. Zelfs in tijden van Corona. En af het toe is het nodig dat iemand ons daar aan herinnert. Voor mij was dit Quinty Misiedjan die me vroeg op te treden in de live uitzending voorafgaand aan haar documentaire voor War Child ‘Getekend voor het leven’. Ik vond haar initiatief zo bijzonder dat het mij inspireerde om hier zelf ook iets mee te doen.

Samen met producer the Kid Selim ben ik gaan zitten om speciaal voor deze gelegenheid een liedje te schrijven. We wilden met het liedje recht doen aan de kracht van de kinderen. Een positieve message zoals ik die ook bij Quinty ervaarde. Christmas is a time of giving. Sometimes we forget how 'blessed' we are. Even in times of Covid-19. Now and then you need someone to remind you. For me this person was Quinty Misiedjan who asked me to perform at her live show prior to the premiere of her documentaire for War Chil 'Getekend voor het leven'. I thought this was so special that it inspired me.
